Frederick Carl Frieseke (1874 ? 1939) was an American painter. He is credited with American Impressionism. Inspired by Whistler, Frieseke mainly painted female nudes and portraits, but also did landscapes and other genre work, mostly in soft colours. His style was somewhat midway between the decorative style of Les Nabis, with its intense use of colour and attention to patterns, and classical impressionism, with its interest in sunlight and atmosphere.Source: wikipedia.org
