Funny Scottish highlander on the toilet by Lauren Wilde

This work shows a Scottish highlander in a place where you definitely do not expect him: sitting on the toilet, looking straight at the viewer. It is precisely this contrast that makes the image so strong and funny. The highlander, normally a symbol of peace, nature and strength, is portrayed here in an everyday and almost vulnerable situation. Its long, shaggy coat hangs nonchalantly along the edge of the toilet, while its large horns stand out proudly against the small, enclosed space of the toilet.

The use of colour is warm and earthy. Deep brown tones, rusty orange accents and soft cream colours dominate the image and reinforce the highlander's character. The background consists of weathered walls and subtle textures, giving it a raw, almost industrial feel. At the same time, the painterly character, with visible brush strokes and playful details, creates a lively and loose feel. The porcelain of the toilet contrasts slightly with the warm colours of the coat, subtly drawing attention to the absurd centrepiece of the work.

What I like about this artwork is that it is not only humorous, but also remains surprisingly stylish. It is a real eye-catcher that immediately evokes a smile. Perfect for in the toilet or bathroom, where the piece does exactly what it should do: surprise, put things into perspective and bring a bit of self-mockery. Ideal for animal lovers, humour and art that doesn't take itself too seriously.
