Goddess Aphrodite – The Power of Love by AidasignArt

Majestic yet sensual, Aphrodite, the goddess of love, beauty and desire, rises in a frontal and monumental pose above a halved globe. Her fully visible figure appears to be cast in solid bronze and covered in a vibrant verdigris patina. Her flowing hair moves gently in the imaginary breeze, lending the powerful composition a fascinating dynamism.

In her hands, Aphrodite holds two of her most significant symbols: the golden apple, symbolising beauty, seduction and the famous Judgement of Paris, and a hand mirror as a sign of her consummate beauty. A dove rests on her shoulder, whilst a swan at her feet emphasises her connection to love and grace. A shell, ocean waves and a bronze dolphin evoke her mythical connection to the sea and her legendary birth from the sea foam. The artfully integrated ‘belt of love’ alludes to the irresistible power of desire.

Bold, impasto brushstrokes, sculptural layers of paint and intense colour textures combine bronze, patina green, metallic blue, wine red and deliberate gold accents. A dramatic, abstract space enhances the timeless, visionary effect.

An expressive work of contemporary fine art from the series ‘Archetypes of Power – Powers of Humanity’ – a monumental homage to the power of love and beauty.
