Goethe Park, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Classical Weimar", was laid out in the late 18th century with Goethe's co-operation. This combination of nature, art and spirituality was the starting point for me. I didn't just want to depict a landscape, but a place that combines cultural depth and scenic tranquillity.
The atmosphere of the picture is deliberately calm and open. It invites you to lose yourself in the vastness and at the same time discover the fine details in the foreground. The work conveys a sense of balance - between nature and design, between past and present.
