Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.

Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

About ‘Golden Silence’ by The Negative Dept.

A quiet evening on the coast of Ibiza. The sea lies calm and vast as far as the horizon, whilst the low-setting sun bathes the water’s surface in warm shades of gold and orange. Dark clouds drift across the sky, forming a stark contrast to the last light of the day. In the foreground, jagged rocks rise from the water as black silhouettes. A small sailing boat glides calmly across the sea, whilst another boat is barely visible on the horizon.

The analogue photograph, taken with a Minolta SRT 101 on Kodak 200 film, lends the scene a natural warmth, fine grain and a timeless quality. The strong backlighting, the deep shadows and the muted colours create a tranquil, slightly melancholic atmosphere.

A picture of tranquil Ibiza – far removed from the hustle and bustle and nightlife, entirely in tune with the rhythm of the sea, the rocks and the last light of the day.
