About ‘Golden silence over Bangkok’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

In the midst of Bangkok's nocturnal silence, the chedi of Wat Tri Thotsathep Worawihan rises like a golden arrow touching the sky. Its soft glow breaks through the black and white world of the city, as if to stop time and transform the hectic pace of the day into reverent calm. Behind it towers the Golden Mount, a sparkling temple mountain that watches over the rooftops of the metropolis - an ancient heart of light that continues to beat in the breath of the modern city.
Between the glass towers and the silhouettes of the skyscrapers, a silent dialogue of past and present is revealed. The golden spires of the chedis seem to whisper to each other, as if they were sharing stories of monks, pilgrims and centuries of devotion. Their glow, so warm and enduring, weaves a bond of spirituality across the sleeping city, a silent promise that even in change, the soul of the place remains.
Bangkok seems almost enraptured at this moment - as if an invisible hand is resting on the city, muffling all noise and leaving behind only the language of light. And so they stand there: the Chedi and the Golden Mount, like two eternal guardians of a world that is simultaneously old and constantly new.
