About ‘Golden splendour of eternity’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

In the heart of Bangkok, in the venerable Wat Suthat Thepwararam, a scene of sublime beauty and deep spirituality is revealed. Your gaze falls on the majestic golden Buddha statue, Phra Buddha Trilokachet, whose gentle glow fills the room. It sits in quiet contemplation, a symbol of peace and enlightenment, and radiates a timeless calm that casts a spell over the viewer.
The statue is surrounded by a kaleidoscope of exquisite murals that adorn the walls of the Phra Ubosot, the ordination hall. Every detail tells a story, every colour shimmers in rich tones, and together they form a visual symphony that enhances the spiritual atmosphere of the place. The ornate representations merge with the golden Buddha to form a harmonious whole that reflects the splendour and rich history of this royal temple in Thailand. Candles and fresh flower arrangements at her feet bear witness to the worship and prayers that are offered here daily, adding an extra dimension of devotion to the scene.
