The golden glow illuminates the city and for a moment it seems as if we are stepping back in time. As if watching an intimate moment from a distance. The sun is soft and warm, birds fly above the buildings, a few clouds soften the sky, and the colour palette is reminiscent of a painting.
The photographer wanted to capture the unique connection between gondoliers and Venice. Here we see authentic Italy, where culture and love for the land from its inhabitants is central. Flags fly proudly in the wind. The buildings stand iconically on the waterfront as we know Venice. The image exudes tranquillity, warmth, history and intimacy.
