At the western entrance to the historic centre of Valkenburg aan de Geul stands the imposing Grendelpoort - one of the town's most recognisable monuments. Built from soft marlstone in the 14th century, this city gate is a tangible reminder of Valkenburg's medieval past.

With its robust towers, battlements and narrow passageway, the gate exudes strength and dignity. The Limburg light plays over the marl: soft gold in the morning, warm and deep in tone in the evening. Each stone bears traces of time from centuries of wind, rain and hands that shaped and preserved it.

Surrounding the gate is the lively city centre, where old streets meet modern activity. Yet the Grendel Gate retains its quiet presence, as a beacon between past and present. Those who walk under it feel the history in the stones the rhythm of a city proud of its heritage.

The Grendel Gate is more than an entrance; it is a symbol of identity. A gate that not only protected the city, but also shaped its character strong, welcoming and rooted in tradition.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
