In this work, the boundaries between nature and abstraction blur. Vertical lines evoke an association with tree trunks in a forest, while horizontal planes create an almost geometric structure, like layers in a memory. It is like looking at a landscape through a window that has just fogged up - the view is diffuse, but the atmosphere is palpable and intense.
The colours are soft but layered: warm greens, deep browns and diffuse light blues suggest a peaceful forest on an early morning. The light in the centre of the work seems to come from behind, like an invitation to move deeper into the picture, towards an unknown openness or a path just out of sight.
The abstract treatment makes the sculpture universal. It is not a specific place, but a feeling - of stillness, slowing down, perhaps even melancholy. At the same time, there is structure, footing in the lines that organise the image. The reflection at the bottom reinforces the idea of a water surface, or a reflection of the inner self.
This work invites reverie. It is both calm and layered, both concrete and suggestive - a play between perceiving and imagining
