Group portrait of an unknown college, Thomas de Keyser, c. 1625 - c. 1630 oil on canvas, h 126cm × w 105.8cm.
Directors of associations and corporations liked to have their portraits taken in groups. These three unknown gentlemen are clearly dealing with money and valuables. On the small table between them is a purse with coins and a beautifully crafted balance for weighing gold and other trinkets. The man on the right holds a letter of credit in his hand. Presumably these are bankers.
