About ‘Had one too many’ by Tine Rojek

You can see an alert, lively donkey. He is the ‘ 'gute Gastgeber' oder der nüchterne Beobachter, der uns direkt in die Augen schaut und ein breites, fast verschmitztes Lächeln aufsetzt, das sagen könnte: 'Hoppla, was haben wir denn da gemacht?' ’ The intense, vibrant colours represent the energy and zest for life that mark the start of a celebration.
In the centre stands the ‘ 'Beweismittel' ’ – the wine glass. It is the focal point where the colours of the two donkeys meet and blend. The rising hearts are not only symbols of love, but also of exuberance and good times. Yet the glass is now empty.
On the right-hand side, we see the result of the glass: the sleeping donkey. He has clearly 'zu tief ins Glas geschaut'. The colours on his side are softer, blurred into one another, as if the world revolves around him.
