Halong Bay in northeastern Vietnam is known for its emerald green waters and thousands of towering limestone islands covered in rainforest. Junk cruises and sea kayak excursions pass by islands named after their shapes, such as Cho Da Island ("Stone Dog") and Am Tich Islet ("Teapot"). The bay is a popular region for diving, climbing and hiking, especially in the mountainous Cát Bà National Park.
