About ‘Hasard cheratte’ by Niels Van der Borght

This mine consisted of 4 shafts and yielded 1000 tons of coal per day.

The mine was closed in 1977 due to the rise of oil and gas, as a result of which 590 people lost their jobs as miners.

The site was largely demolished in 2017, only the towers in the picture are still standing.
