About the artwork
The historic sailing ships the warehouses provide a beautiful cityscape. Dordrecht's historic downtown and the clouds are almost a painting.
The ropes hanging from the bollards, the anchor on the bow. The bowsprit is up and the ship is sheltered in the historic harbor. Will the ship sail soon or will it stay at the quay for a while. The harbor is a beautiful sight with different ships from different years.
The building styles of the various ships and the various warehouses suggest a bustle and activity on the quay. The warehouses and the maintenance-oriented companies at the wharves.
The atmosphere is still there.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
