I photographed this woman in the mountains of northern Vietnam in the Ha Giang region. She carried a large load on her back of dried corn stalks used as fuel. The woman belongs to the ethnic minority of the Hmong mountain people originally from China. You can recognise them by their colourful costumes and head coverings, among other things.
An elderly woman carrying such a huge load on her back is a very unusual picture for us.
