The Hooded Vulture is a relatively small species of vulture that lives in the savannahs of Africa. This vulture is not shy and is often observed near human settlements. It is a typical scavenger and litter picker. The Hooded Vulture is in high decline in many areas within its range due to hunting, persecution and poisoning, as well as loss of habitat. For these reasons, the Hooded Vulture has been listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List since 2015
