On a road near the central area of Marrakesh in Morocco, rows of horses and carriages stand under the relative shade of trees waiting for tourists to hire them. Horse and carriage rides in Marrakesh are a popular way of sightseeing.
Private horse-drawn carriage hire allows a tourist to cover more ground than just walking around on foot. Marrakesh is a large city and there is lots to see and do. Having a driver also means you won't get lost like I did when I visited Marrakech about 15 years ago!
Some tourists see these rides as a way of getting their bearings before setting off on foot. Tours will show tourists the city’s top landmarks and attractions, such as Marrakech Medina, Agnaou Door, Koutoubia Mosque, and Jemaa el-Fnaa Square.
