Huang Jun was a Chinese painter of the late Qing dynasty, known for his sensitive depictions of landscapes in the traditional style. He orientated himself on the old masters of the Song and Yuan periods and combined classical painting techniques with his own poetic visual language. Huang Jun mostly created works in ink on paper or silk, depicting quiet, contemplative views of nature - mountains, rivers, bamboo groves and pagodas in the mist. His painting style is characterised by fine lines, balanced composition and atmospheric depth. In scholarly circles, Huang Jun was regarded as a cultivated literary painter who saw painting as an expression of inner harmony and spiritual reflection.
