The Citadel of Hué, an emblematic site in Vietnam, is a unique fortress where the history and culture of the Nguyen dynasty are revealed at every step. Visitors begin their exploration at the majestic Ngo Mon Gate, the official entrance of the emperors. Inside, the Palace of Supreme Harmony imposes its grandeur, while the harmonious gardens are a reminder of the importance of nature in Vietnamese culture. The Citadel is also home to various temples and pavilions where emperors paid homage to their ancestors. This historic site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, transports visitors back to a time when Hué was the centre of imperial power. Today, it is a national symbol of pride and a place of cultural memory that cannot be ignored.
