Icebergs can be breathtakingly beautiful and huge. Icebergs are only 'born' in Greenland (from the Greenland ice shelf) and in Antarctica. The icebergs that form in the Weddell Sea are often table mountains as they break off from the giant ice shelves. They are beautiful creations of nature and it is hard to imagine how this ice formed over thousands of years. The icebergs in the photo were 40 to 50 metres high, which is literally the top of the iceberg. 90% of an iceberg is underwater and you can then imagine (or not) what a gigantic mass of ice floats in the sea. It makes for beautiful landscapes and stunning pictures!
