This colourful world map is of little use when planning your holidays but all the more so when decorating your living room (or other parts of the house).
The map was largely created using sponge panels in Photoshop. But I also added a relief layer and a colourful splash pattern. And furthermore, local grooves representing national borders are also visible; borders that tend to fade, as they should in a world that is actually a whole.
The colours are a free interpretation of the well-known Blue Marble images that show our planet as it looks from space. Recognizable features include the ice caps of Antarctica and Greenland, the deserts and tropical rainforests, and the boreal forests of the northern hemisphere. But seen between the eyelashes, finer details like the Himalayas and the arid western United States are also visible.
