About the artwork
This artwork contains a multitude of circles. They are special circles, they all have a beautiful and playful natural pattern. A pattern of natural elements: large and small flowers, branches with leaves and beautiful curls. Among all these natural patterns, there are also several dots. It is a cheerful pattern, but also one that recalls the flower power era, the hippie era. A pattern that also goes well with the boho style.
This circle artwork comes in soothing colours: blue, green and turquoise.
The circles are transparent and together form a whole of lines and patterns. All six are different, yet also identical. This is just like with people, we are all different, yet also somehow identical. This philosophical idea also fits well with the life of the hippies during the flower power period.
The basis of this artwork in natural tones is a photo of my own hand, taken from an object on which there is this fun cheerful boho pattern. The various circles are done in different colours and the artwork is digitally converted into a pattern with numerous dots. This gives the circles a connection to pointillism, a painting technique where the painter only applies dots to a background.
Therefore, this circle pattern is not only beautiful from a distance, but if you look at it up close, it is definitely worth it!
