Rainbow shells in a row.
The ultimate vacation feeling I have is when I'm at the beach. And I don't mean lying on a towel trying to get a tan. I get the vacation feeling by just being there, by the sea, walking along the surf, enjoying the sounds and smells of the sea. And all this on an (almost) deserted beach.
Of course, part of this is looking for shells. It's extremely addictive and I can't help myself when I'm near the sea.
My collection contains not only all kinds of special shells, but also ordinary cockles. I usually take these home to do crafts with. All those creations in the house remind me of the vacations and bring back the free feeling.
I painted these shells in the colors of the rainbow.
For me, this picture especially represents freedom. Not only the freedom you have when you are on vacation but especially the freedom to be who you want to be. These rainbow colors also represent the rainbow flag (LGBT). Be proud of yourself, whoever you are and whatever you feel. Everyone is allowed to be there!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
