I love old photographs and postcards, especially old portraits or scenes from everyday life. You dream yourself into another time and try to imagine how people lived back then, who they loved and what moved them. The young woman is Ione Bright from a 1912 photograph. Ione Bright was arguably one of the mysteries of Broadway, the petite little actress appeared in only 5 plays between 1910 and 1937. There is hardly any information about this actress, endowed with childlike beauty.
I had the idea to depict this beauty in a modern expressionistic way. So I started to work with the brush tools and different color gradients and filters. So I created 3 versions of this picture. I hope you like it, and Ione Bright forgives me the many color blots in her face when she looks at my work from the sky!
Since my childhood I paint and draw. Early on I was also interested in technology and history. Like many artists, I am very rarely satisfied with my works. One strives for perfection, tries to at least come close to it.
