Tips for use

Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

About ‘Irises, Vincent van Gogh’

Irises, Vincent van Gogh, 1890

Van Gogh painted this still life at the asylum in Saint-Rémy. For him, the painting was primarily a colour study. He was looking for a powerful colour contrast. By setting the purple flowers against a yellow background, the decorative shapes came out especially brightly. Originally, the irises were purple. Fading of a red pigment has since turned the flowers blue.
