About the artwork

The IJzeren Kaap near Oosterend on Texel is a striking beacon that has been part of the island since the 19th century. In black and white, this historic structure takes on an even more powerful appearance: the metal structure stands out sharply against the sky, as if time and technology merge here in simplicity and monumentality.
A special contrast is created when the sun rises. The first light of the day slowly creeps over the horizon and casts long shadows over the landscape. The contours of the Iron Cape are enhanced by the play of light and dark. What would be a soft glow in colour becomes a graphic scene full of depth and drama in black and white.
The surrounding landscape of Texel adds to the stillness and power of this image. The vast plains and proximity to the Wadden Sea create an open horizon, in which the Cape stands tall like a watchtower from a bygone era. The combination of steel, sky and light evokes feelings of both transience and constancy.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
