About ‘Just the wind and you’ by Hans Rodewald

Who doesn’t dream of being pulled across the sea by the power of the wind alone, leaping over the waves with little hops?

Kitesurfing has developed into a fascinating sport in recent years.

Around 200 years ago, the teacher George Pocock was already experimenting with large stunt kites to power carriages and small boats. Pocock’s aim was to establish a genuine alternative to horses, whilst at the same time saving on the ‘horse tax’ that was customary at the time. Around 80 years later, in 1903, aviation pioneer Samuel Franklin Cody developed the man-lifting kite and used it to cross the English Channel on a sailing boat.

A particularly attractive spot for kitesurfing is the Cape Verde Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Cape Verde lies almost 600 kilometres west of the African west coast. Due to the numerous honeymooners, Cape Verde is also often referred to as ‘ "Inseln der Liebe" ’.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
