A keris can make its owner invulnerable, bestow bravery, bring good luck, protect against illness and more.
The reverse is also possible: keris that bring misfortune to the owner. With rituals and sacrifices, evil forces can possibly be warded off.
Keris play an important role in many Indonesian (family) stories.
