About ‘Kingfisher catches fish!’ by Thijs Schouten

During an early one, I was treated to a spectacular sight: a kingfisher just shooting up from the water with a fish in its beak. I was ready with my camera and managed to capture this triumphant moment. The kingfisher's colours, bright blue and orange, really jumped off the image, while the water droplets were still falling from its feathers. Moments like this are rare and it takes a lot of patience and a bit of luck to capture them.

I would love to have this picture hanging on my wall because it reminds me of the magic of such unexpected moments in nature. Every time I look at this picture, I feel the excitement of the moment and admiration for the speed and precision of the kingfisher. It is more than just a pretty picture; it is a reminder of the adventure and beauty that nature has to offer. This shot brings a piece of that vibrant nature into my home and inspires me to always be alert and ready to capture the wonders around us.
