The Elbe ferry between Königstein and Halbestadt is part of the public transport system. From early morning, more precisely 4:30 a.m., until late at night at about 11 p.m., it transports its guests across the Elbe river. According to its own information, the ferry fleet in Saxon Switzerland is "Germany's largest inland ferry company with 8 ferry stations and 10 motor ships." From Heidenau near Dresden to the German-Czech border in Hrensko, the ferry stations are spread out so that the river can be crossed without a bridge.
