About "Kok-Buru at Soň-Köl"

About the artwork

What you see here is pure tension and power. Two Kyrgyz riders are engaged in a fierce battle during the ancient game of kok-buru, an equestrian sport that symbolises courage and agility. The reins are tight, whips at the ready, and you can almost feel the dust blowing up from the grass steppe. In the background, the serene calm of Lake Soň-Köl and the soft contours of the mountains contrast with the ferocity in the foreground.

My inspiration? Kyrgyzstan's rich nomadic culture and ancient traditions that are still alive and kicking. Kok-buru is more than a game; it is a ritual, an expression of strength, respect and connection with horse and nature.

The mood of this portrait is intense and dynamic, but at the same time earthy and pure. The warm colour palette reflects the steppe and late sunlight, while the cooler blue of the lake provides balance.

With this work, I want to make you feel the tension of the moment as well as the beauty of contrast: man and nature, struggle and silence, tradition and eternity.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
