The lama (Lama glama), sometimes also called sheep camel, is a domesticated South American ungulate from the family of camelids (Camelidae). The lama has a withers height of 109 to 119 centimeters, a head-rom length of 120 to 225 centimeters and a body weight of 130 to 155 kilograms. The fur consists of thick wool. The face is thinner hairy. The coat colour varies from white to reddish-brown and grey to black, both solid and mottled. There are two races, the chaku and the ccara. The chaku, the more general breed, has a rather long, woolly coat, the ccara a very short coat.
