Landing Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe replica.
Registration: N262AZ.
The Messerschmitt Me 262, nicknamed Schwalbe (swallow), was the very first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft. The aircraft was used by the Luftwaffe to a limited extent during World War II.
The aircraft is considered one of Hitler's wonder weapons whose development began even before the war. By April 1939, the first plans were already on the drawing board. The first test flights began in April 1941.
Due to problems with the development of the jet engines, production did not start until 1944, when the engines had better performance. A major problem, however, was that after 10 flying hours they had to be overhauled.
