This picture was taken in the Amsterdam Dune Waterworks.
Pine forest
The pine forest in the AWD was planted in the past mainly to prevent the drifting of the
dunes, to capture sand deposits,for landscape beautification in the 1960s context and for later timber harvesting.
Initially, these plantings can be seen as encroaching on the original dune ecosystem but with time they have gained their own natural value: birds of prey such as buzzard and chiffon harrier often make their nests in conifers and birds such as crested tit are even bound to these forests.
Photography is my biggest hobby/passion....
I photograph various subjects such as;
People/buildings/animals/flowers/holiday countries.
I am always looking for that special moment or building and make a nice composition of it...
