About the artwork

Large ocean-going vessel moored at the quay to unload.

The large ships with their huge cargoes require huge grabs. The harbor and the ships call for impressive equipment. At first glance, it is a quiet harbor. But a lot is happening. The crane crew prepares to unload the ship. The grab is already in position.

The hatches go down from the holds and the cranes with the huge grabs start the job. The port area begins to live and move. The cranes are a ballet the sounds a symphony of hard work in the harbor.

When I'm here it strikes me every time how much happens in a port like this. And the windmills in the background swish their blades around. Every movement on the grounds stands out.

Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always in motion. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.

Ship's Eyes_Port Photography raw and honest as the port itself.
