About "Last Round"

About the artwork

This expressive painting is an explosion of colour, energy and symbolism. A raw, recognisable scene is set in an abstract background full of bright shades of pink, yellow and orange: three frothing glasses of beer, a full ashtray of cigarette butts, pressed out cigarette butts on the table and a few carelessly thrown down playing cards. The background, constructed with rough palette knife strokes and dripping layers of paint, exudes vibrancy and chaos - as if the night is still lingering on the canvas.

The work is a modern interpretation of the traditional still life, but with a contemporary twist full of street culture and rock 'n' roll. The compositional tensions between the figurative (beer, cigarettes, cards) and the abstract (paint explosions and texture) make the painting visually stimulating. The black around the glasses provides a graphic anchor amid the frenzy of colour, constantly returning the eye to the 'heart' of the scene.

The atmosphere is raw, honest and festive - an ode to nights that end in ashtrays and cards, steeped in conversation, music and alcohol.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
