About "Oysters with Wine and Flame"

About the artwork

This explosive and abstract interpretation of a classic still life lifts the scene of oysters, lemons and red wine to a sensory, almost psychedelic dimension. The canvas is infused with wavy lines, thick brushstrokes and a bold colour palette of fuchsia, crimson, lemon yellow and emerald green. Energy splashes off the image: each oyster is cracked open and filled with deep red paint that seems to pulsate - like liquid passion or a symbolic heart.

The bottle of wine in the centre, with its playfully striped label, is the only vertical resting point in an otherwise completely dynamic composition. The lemons and wine glasses seem to dance to the rhythm of the background, which is reminiscent of music or fire because of its sinuous lines. Nothing is silent in this still life: the work brims with life, desire and emotion.

The style is expressionist with influences from Fauvism: colour and form are free from realism, creating a hypnotic effect. This painting is a visual ode to taste, sensuousness and the celebration of life in all its intensity.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
