Lauriergracht Amsterdam at the beginning of autumn. The canal originated when the ring of canals was dug southwards from the Brouwersgracht from 1612. In the 19th century, 6 of the 11 Jordan canals were filled in. Only Bloemgracht, Egelantiersgracht, Lauriergracht, Looiersgracht and Passeerdersgracht remained (in addition to Prinsengracht, Keizersgracht, Herengracht, Singel, Lijnbaansgracht, Brouwersgracht, Leliegracht and Leidsegracht). Among artists, Lauriergracht was popular. Among the canal houses lived Govert Flinck (Lauriergracht 76-78). Later, Hendrick van Uylenburgh's business was located here. George Breitner lived at Lauriergracht 8.
