Lavender Haze - Abstract landscape

by Ellis Hollering

'Lavender Haze' is a dreamy abstract landscape in which lilac, soft pinks and easter tones and warm earth colours blend together. Transparent layers allow light and colour to subtly touch and release each other. Refined details of gold and bronze can be detected in the work, sometimes clearly visible, sometimes almost hidden. The vertical movements and soft transitions give the painting a floating character, as if the colours are carried by a light mist.

The painting is composed of several transparent layers of acrylic paint, complemented by subtle touches of gold and bronze. I worked intuitively and let colour and movement be guiding, giving the work its layered depth.

This painting was created from a desire for stillness and clarity. It was inspired by moments when the world feels softer for a moment, like the first morning light or a quiet twilight. Not a concrete place, but an inner landscape was the starting point, in which peace and space are central.

'Lavender Haze' exudes calmness, softness and stillness. The work invites slowing down and reflection and feels like a moment in which thoughts are allowed to fade and make way for peace.

This artwork brings light and serenity to a space. It forms an elegant presence in both modern and warm interiors.
