Avranches, towards Brittany from Lille via A1,A29 e A84. Avranches is the town where in 1944 General Patton broke through the German lines and began his advance through Europe. Much better known is the town as the base of Mont Saint Michel, 17 kilometres away. One of France's icons and therefore also very touristy. But no matter how busy it is, the rock with abbey rising out of the ocean waters like a mirage never fails to impress. Isn't it wonderful; that tidal flat landscape with, in the distance, that pointed mountain, completely built up with monastery buildings, chapels and, at the top, the thin Gothic spires of the church. Emerging from an endless space of sand and torrents, the abbey of Mont Saint Michel appears. The Wonder of the West, one of France's most amazing coastal sights, rising proudly in the bay between Normandy and Brittany. From the Netherlands, it is not even that far of a drive so it lends itself perfectly to a long weekend away or short holiday
I am a broad-based photographer but have a passion for ''travel photography'' in particular.
I therefore make travel videos together with my lovely wife, for our YouTube channel ''shorty's adventure''..
