This imposing lighthouse was built on a rock off the Channel coast called Gros du Raz and went into operation on 1th November 1838. With its 52m height, its light is visible at great distances.
On the day the picture was taken, there was an extremely strong wind, making it almost impossible to photograph. On top of that, the weather was unsettled, inviting us to give up rather than continue. Suddenly, however, the sky cleared and this beautiful evening light was visible for a few moments.
This picture is photographed as a long exposure, where the water loses its structure and looks very harmonious. The image takes on a graphic feel as it shows few fine details and it is rather the colours and shapes that contribute to the image's message.
Photography is painting with light. According to this motto, my pictures are created, whether as a long exposure or simply in the first or last light of the day.
