Liang Yuwei (ca. 1844-1917) was a Chinese scholar, civil servant and outstanding painter of the late Qing dynasty. After his career in the civil service, he devoted himself entirely to painting and became particularly well known for his delicate flower paintings in ink and colour on silk. His works are characterised by technical precision, harmonious compositions and a deep philosophical rootedness in Chinese aesthetics.
