Beautiful image of a black and white lighthouse during sunset.
Nieuwe Sluis is a lighthouse near the hamlet of Nieuwesluis, a few kilometres west of the village of Breskens in the Dutch province of Zeeland.
The Breskens lighthouse, built in 1868, is the oldest remaining cast-iron lighthouse in the Netherlands and one of the most iconic buildings in West-Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
The octagonal, black-and-white painted tower stands on the sea dike at the entrance to the Westerschelde estuary. The lighthouse was built in 1866-1867 to a design by the Dutch architect Quirinus Harder.
