This lighthouse is in Gardur at the tip of the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland. The very first night ( 6March 2022) that I was there, the Northern Lights appeared over the sea behind the lighthouse. Sometimes there was just an intense green color and sometimes it was more green gusts. The wind was incredibly strong and it was quite cold. The sea was very turbulent due to the strong wind with high whitecaps on the waves. The strong wind also made it a challenge to capture the lighthouse without motion blur. All in all, it was fairy-tale beautiful with the rocks and the illuminated lighthouse in the foreground, the glowing waves and the cloudy sky with the moon, the millions of stars and the Northern Lights in the background. Because there were a lot of clouds, the moon was occasionally hidden but that made the sky all the more exciting.
I think it is a photo in which there is a lot to see, where your eye inevitably ends up at the lighthouse. It is a photo that shows how beautiful and enchanting the world can be.
