This collage shows a classic image of Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf, taken from an old collector's book in which pictures of products could be pasted.

My inspiration for this collage comes from my lifelong collection of paper ephemera and my fascination with fairy tales. By using an authentic, old image from a vintage collector's book, I wanted to combine the nostalgia of classic fairy tales with a contemporary artistic approach.

With this collage, I aim to create an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and intriguing. The combination of vintage elements with transparent layers creates a dreamy, almost ethereal look. The neutral colours, enhanced by the distinctive red of Little Red Riding Hood's cloak, create a harmonious balance between tranquillity and vibrancy.

This collage symbolises confrontation with the 'big bad outside world'. Little Red Riding Hood represents the goodness and caring we strive for, while the wolf embodies the external forces that cross our path with evil intentions and self-interest.

My collage technique involves layering various paper materials. Placing transparent paper over old images creates depth and a layered effect. In addition, I often add unexpected, sometimes humorous details that at first glance do not seem to fit within the whole.

The collage is for lovers of classic fairy tales, nature and vintage aesthetics. The neutral colour tones make the work versatile in various interior styles, while the red accent of Little Red Riding Hood's cloak is a striking detail that catches the eye.
