Kayah State is the smallest state in Myanmar and is tucked between the southern part of Inle Lake and the northern part of Kayin State. An interesting region with many ethnic minorities who have lived for centuries in this hilly area of Myanmar, near the Thai border. One of the minorities you can visit in this area are the Karen tribe, or the long-necked people. Many people know this group from Thailand, but originally they come from Myanmar where a small part of the population still lives. At this moment there are about 100 women in Myanmar who wear the traditional rings around their neck.
