Taken at the end of Falmer Pond in Falmer, just outside Brighton in Sussex, UK, this image shows a group of seagulls looking out for food. There are people having picnics on the grass all around the pond, which is like a small lake. Three of the seagulls are clearly on sentry duty, two of them standing on large rocks and looking in all directions to see where someone might leave or throw some food for them. The seagull in the foreground, casting a shadow upon the grass, looks like the one in charge. In the background a few geese hover in the hope of picking up a few crumbs. As the birds circle, there are ripples on the lake.
