Otto Müller (Liebau, Germany (now Lubawka in Poland) 16 October 1874 - Breslau, 24 September 1930) was a German painter and lithographer who was part of the Expressionist movement. From 1894 to 1896 he studied at the art academy in Dresden, Saxony. He continued his studies in 1898 in Munich, Bavaria. His early work was influenced by Impressionism, Art Nouveau and Symbolism. When he settled in Berlin in 1908 he focused more on Expressionism. Central theme in his work was the unity of man and nature.
In spite of the fleeting art form, contours of the body are often clearly visible on the artist's works of art.
