This owl still has a long way to go when it comes to giving and receiving love. Like many people, he longs for connection, but at the same time finds it daunting to open his heart completely. The work is about self-love, vulnerability and the courage to show your true self.

My name is Yvonne Kok, an artist from Haarlem. I paint in a pop-street art style. Freedom, vulnerability and inner strength are central themes. This stems primarily from my personal journey. I mainly paint women and birds — symbols of daring to show your true self and being as free as a bird.
